Google Docs

I really enjoyed using Google Docs to create a newsletter. I could definitely see myself using it in my classroom to create flyers for field trips, or letters home to parents. I could also use Google Docs to create signs for around my classroom. The signs for designated areas in the classroom, like reading space, etc. One big advantage is how easy it is to learn and use. Everything you need is right there at your fingertips and extra help on how to use the program is all over the internet. Also, if one is familiar with Microsoft Word learning Google Docs seems very simple. Some disadvantages may be that there are extra features one would want to use that perhaps may not be available. There are also so many ways to save Google Docs that it becomes slightly confusing. However, in my classroom I feel like Google Docs would be a perfect program to use and even show my students the basics of it.

The Wii

The Wii has changed gaming as we know it. It allows us to use our bodies to control our characters, and even have a workout routine. The Wii can also be used to assist in education. For example, an elementary school may want to use an educational game on the Wii as a reward when a student is behaving well. I'm not sure what kinds of educational games are out there but the Wii is also a way to get students up and moving around to break up the monotony of constantly sitting.
